Your budget is not a financial strategy. It's a forecast — a guess about the future made with the information you had at the time. And the problem isn't that you made a guess. The problem is what most organizations do next: they lock that guess in place and measure everything against it for the next twelve months, even as new information comes in.

In this solo episode, Sarah unpacks one of the most common and costly mistakes nonprofit leaders make around money: confusing a budget with a plan. A budget tells you what you thought would happen.
